New Solenoid Opening System: Simpler, Faster and Safer Maintenance

Rain introduces an important technical enhancement across its entire range of valves: a new solenoid opening system designed to simplify maintenance and improve the efficiency of field operations.

The new design features a selection ring that allows two distinct opening modes, each developed to meet different operational needs:

1. Ring lowered – Standard position and manual opening

When the ring remains lowered, the entire assembly – solenoid, adapter and plunger – can be unscrewed together, keeping the plunger fully encapsulated.

By unscrewing the solenoid by approximately one turn, the valve will open manually.

Under normal operating conditions, the ring should therefore be kept in the lowered position.

2. Ring raised – Quick cleaning and maintenance of the movable plunger

Ensuring the water supply is shut off, when the ring is raised, the solenoid can be unscrewed without removing the adapter.

This leaves the plunger completely exposed, allowing the installer to:

• immediately inspect the condition of the internal plunger
• carry out rapid cleaning to remove limescale, sand or debris
• resolve any valve blockages without complete disassembly
• replace the solenoid in the event of failure

A simple and immediate operation, ideal for quick on‑site interventions.

A dedicated accessory for challenging installations

To further support installers, Rain is also introducing a new ergonomic tool designed to help unscrew solenoids in demanding conditions, such as:

• when the solenoid is excessively tight
• when the valve is installed in a particularly deep or hard‑to‑reach valve box
